Kenya has taken another big step forward in education and innovation. A new five-year programme worth KSh 30 billion has been launched to support schools, teachers, and students across the country. The project, called “Citizens of the Future”, aims to prepare the next generation with modern skills for a digital and knowledge-based economy.

The investment will improve more than 600 schools in different counties. It will include new classrooms, science labs, and digital learning facilities. Teachers will also receive special training in information and communication technology (ICT), helping them integrate modern tools into their teaching.

More than 10,000 students will receive scholarships to continue their education at secondary and university levels, focusing on science, technology, and entrepreneurship. The project will also expand technical and vocational training, encouraging young people to build practical skills for the job market.

This large-scale investment represents a strong partnership between Kenya’s private sector, education institutions, and communities. It is designed to ensure that every young Kenyan has access to quality education and the opportunity to become a skilled professional in the future workforce.

For the Joint Kenya-Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JKACCI), this development opens new areas for cooperation. The improvement of digital education, skills development, and innovation aligns perfectly with the growing economic relations between Kenya and the Arab region. Arab investors are increasingly looking at Kenya not only as a trade hub but also as a center of talent and creativity.

Better-educated youth mean stronger businesses, more innovation, and a brighter future for Kenya’s economy. This initiative demonstrates the country’s long-term vision to build knowledge, equality, and opportunity through education.
